We provide information on a range of topics related to finance, including personal finance, budgeting, home mortgage, credit, loans and other similar ideas. On the subject of budgeting, we have learned as a family the value in buying groceries one time per month. We are less prone to impulse purchases, which are known to drive up our personal spending. And, because we buy by the month, it makes good sense to buy bulk items at bulk prices. Of course, we were limited in our bulk purchasing abilities for a couple of years, until we broke down and bought a stand up freezer. My wife urged me to buy only the smallest of freezers, but I prevailed on buying a 26 cubic foot freezer, because we can buy all of our meats and frozen foods months in advance instead of weeks in advance. This allows us to take advantage of great sales when they come around, and to stock our freezer at greatly reduced prices. Read on as we share our knowledge with you:
